A. CRA Stands for Central Record Keeping Agency. Stock Holding Corporation of India Limited (SHCIL) is the only CRA appointed by the Government of India for e-Stamping. SHClL has been promoted by leading Public Financial Institutions and is trusted by lakhs of happy customers across the country for safety, integrity, nation wide network and state-of-the-art IT capabilities.

Q. what is e-stamping?
A. e-Stamping is a computer based application and a secured electronic way of stamping documents. It’s an electronic way of paying Non-Judicial stamp duty to the Government.

Q. Features of e-Stamping?
A. 1. On-line e-Stamp can be generated within minutes. 2. e-Stamp generated is tamper proof. 3. Authenticity of the e-Stamp can be checked through its verification module. 4. Specific denomination is available. 5. Additional e-Stamp available.

Q. what do you mean by ACC-?
A. ACC means Authorized Collection Centre. Its an agent appointed by SHCIL in consultation with State Governments. ACC is the intermediary between the CRA and stamp duty payer. Currently only Nationalized Banks and Post Offices are appointed as ACC.

Q. what is Unique identification Number (UIN)?
A. UlN is a system generated e-Stamp number.

Q. when will I get e-Stamp from an ACC?
A. After submitting a duly filled application form and the stomp duty amount, the ACC will enter the details into the system and e-Stamp would be generated immediately in case of Cash. For the other modes i.e. Cheque. Demand Draft, Pay Order. Bankers Cheque, RTGS, NEFT, e-stamp is generated only after realization of funds.

Q. After generating the e-Stamp, can I cancel the e-Stamp? A. For cancellation and refund you need to get in touch with the competent authority at the stamp office appointed by the respective State Government.
